Our Beliefs

The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and inerrant (Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal (1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 2:18, 4:4-5).

God is all powerful, all loving, all wise and ever present. God is Father to those who become His children through faith in Jesus Christ. It is in Him that we live, move and have our being (Isaiah 64:8; Matthew 6:9; John 3:16, 5:26; Romans 8:15; 1 Timothy 2:3-5)

Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind, and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory (John 1:1,14, 20:28; Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:18, 23-25; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5-6; 1Timothy 2:5-6, 3:16).

The Holy Spirit of God is the third person of the Trinity. He inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. The Spirit exalts Christ, convicts men of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. All who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are baptized into the Body of Christ at the moment of conversion. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption. His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that God will bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ. It is through the Spirit in which the believer is empowered to live a Spirit-filled and Spirit-led life in Christ that is necessary to proclaim the Gospel throughout the whole earth (John 16:5-16; 1 Cor. 2:4; 1 Cor. 12:13; Eph 1:13-14, 4:30; Gal. 5:22-25).

Man was created good and upright, in the likeness and image of God but by voluntary transgression he fell; his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Gen. 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21).

Salvation is the free gift from God offered to all people, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts. We are saved by grace through faith in the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for our sins. As a result of the finished work of Christ, those who respond to God's free gift through faith are brought into a right relationship with God. (Acts 4:12, 16:31; Romans 10:9-10; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Hebrews 9:22).

The Holy Spirit distributes spiritual gifts to believers to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection and confirm the power of the Gospel. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of Biblical parameters (Romans 1:11, 12 :4-8; Ephesians 4:11-16; 2 Timothy 1:5-16; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; Hebrews 2:4; 1 Peter 4:10).

The church is the Body and Bride of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus' great commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (John 17:11, 20-23; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23).

Water Baptism: Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Baptism is a public profession of faith in Christ and is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. It is a declaration to the world that we have died to sin and have been raised to new life in Christ (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38, 8:12-13). 

The Lord's Supper: A unique time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and juice (representing the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. It is also a time of celebration as we give thanks to God for our salvation in Christ (Matthew 26:26-29; 1Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-29).

Biblical Marriage is clearly defined as one man (born a man) united with one woman (born a woman) for life. This covenant is with God and should not be taken lightly or altered to fit personal preferences. It is a beautiful example and reflection of the marriage between Christ and the Church (Genesis 2:22-24, Matthew 19:4-6, Mark 10:6-9, Ephesians 5:22-33).

Heaven is the eternal dwelling place for all believers in Jesus Christ. Hell is the eternal dwelling place for those who rejected God's gracious gift of salvation in Jesus Christ. (John 3:16, 17:24; Romans 6:23; 2 Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 11:16; 1 Peter 1:4; 1 John 5:11-13; Revelation 20:12-15).

Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures (Matthew 24:30, 26:63-64; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8; Revelation 1:7).
